A little race through time
Stop-to-stop times & map colors
Teal: B at least 10% faster · coral: B at least 10% slower · gray: within 10%. Tap a stretch on the map for its times. Colors compare dates; they do not identify the cause of a slowdown.

THE DIFFERENCE
THE DAY, HOUR BY HOUR
When does the journey change?
Tap, hover or focus a point to inspect it.
Hourly medians use all usable trips. Counts below the chart show the sample size; × means no usable trips, not necessarily no bus service. Hollow points have fewer than three trips. Gaps are never filled in.

One stretch of road
We estimate passage at your two stops from recorded GPS positions. Passages with stale positions or gaps longer than five minutes around either endpoint are excluded. Times include stops and traffic along the way.
Same hours. Same service mix.
The headline compares hours and local/limited services observed on both dates, weighted to date B’s trip mix. At least five matched trips per date are needed for a headline; thin samples are flagged. The hourly chart and medians show all usable trips, so their averages may differ.
A clue, not a verdict
One day is not a trend. Weather, school holidays, construction, detours and missing observations can change the picture. Stops come from the current timetable; route changes may reduce historical matches. A difference alone doesn’t prove a bus lane caused it.
Times are estimates, not stopwatch measurements: GPS is sampled roughly every few minutes. Passage is interpolated within 100 metres of each stop. All dates and hours use New York time. We retain up to 90 days of detailed observations as history accumulates.
